This course provides an introduction to the fundamental concepts of personal finance. Students study the following: time value of money, income tax, checking and saving accounts, consumer credit and consumer loan, vehicle and other major purchases, housing, insurance, personal investment (in securities, mortgages, and funds), retirement and estate planning.
This course is 3 credit hours. Most assignments are due by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday evening for the week. However, weekly discussion forum responses are due by 11:59 p.m. on Saturday evening for the week.
